FKC Orange Grove Clinic encompassed the addition of 4,500 SF to an active 6,500 SF kidney dialysis clinic… and more specifically, the conversion of an 18-chair facility to a 30-chair facility. The primary requirement of this project was to complete all construction activities without interruption of the daily dialysis treatment of patients which occurs 6 days a week between the hours of 7AM and 5PM. This restrictive schedule required all invasive construction activities to occur after hours. Start to finish, the project encompassed 270 days and resulted in no injuries, close-calls, or safety infractions. The patient treatment areas were connected, and the full 30-chair capacity was delivered without incident or impact to patients or operations.
